Jharkhand’s government recruitment system is facing mounting criticism as thousands of job aspirants allege a pattern of paper leaks, examination irregularities, cancelled vacancies and prolonged delays in results and appointments. From Forest Ranger and Assistant Section Officer examinations to Technical CGL, JEE, TGT, Nursing and other recruitment drives, candidates claim that repeated disruptions have left them trapped in years of uncertainty.The 2026 Forest Ranger Officer recruitment has come under serious allegations, with claims that examination questions were allegedly made available to candidates at a hotel before the test. The allegation has raised fresh questions over examination security and the credibility of the recruitment process.The Assistant Section Officer examination has also faced allegations of a paper leak, while candidates have raised questions over recruitment processes linked to CDPO and Nursing examinations, including allegations concerning the selection of candidates from outside the state. These claims require verification through an official investigation.Aspirants have further alleged that in some examinations, a particular centre recorded an unusually high number of selections, prompting demands for scrutiny of examination centres, evaluation procedures and selection data.Vacancies Announced, then Withdrawn Candidates say recruitment uncertainty has become a recurring problem in Jharkhand. Several vacancies have reportedly been advertised and subsequently withdrawn, forcing aspirants to repeatedly submit applications, pay fees and restart their preparations.The 2024 recruitment cycle, in particular, has been cited by candidates as an example of repeated vacancy announcements followed by withdrawal or delays.Aspirants also point to recruitment processes initiated years ago. The TGT recruitment initiated in 2016 has been cited as a long-running example, with candidates questioning the status of posts and appointments years after the recruitment process began.Similarly, candidates say some examinations for which forms were submitted as early as 2015 have still not reached a satisfactory conclusion, intensifying frustration among those who have crossed several years of their working-age period waiting for government employment.Paper Leak Allegations Deepen Distrust .Paper-leak allegations have further damaged candidates’ confidence in the recruitment system.Candidates have referred to recruitment examinations conducted in 2022, 2023 and 2024, including an SSC JEE examination that was reportedly cancelled following paper-leak allegations.The Technical CGL recruitment process has also become a major concern for aspirants, with candidates awaiting clarity over results and subsequent stages. In one reported incident, candidates alleged that the question paper did not reach an examination centre, raising questions about administrative preparedness.Aspirants Demand Answers for candidates, the issue is no longer limited to individual examinations. They are demanding a transparent recruitment calendar, tamper-proof examination systems, timely results, protection against paper leaks and fixed deadlines for appointments.They argue that genuine candidates should not be forced to repeatedly spend years preparing for examinations because of administrative failures or alleged malpractice.The allegations have also revived scrutiny of the functioning of recruitment bodies and examination authorities in Jharkhand. Former JPSC chairman Ajit Bhattacharya has been mentioned in discussions surrounding the state’s recruitment controversies; however, allegations against individuals must be established through due investigation and official findings.With thousands of aspirants continuing to wait for results, appointments and clarity over vacancies, the recruitment crisis has evolved into a wider governance concern.Candidates are now demanding one thing above all: fair examinations, transparent selections and appointments within a clearly defined timeline.
