Yamkeshwar, Uttarakhand: A Raksha Bandhan celebration was organised in Thalnadi of Yamkeshwar Assembly constituency, hosted by Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee and a senior BJP leader.
The programme focused on honouring and celebrating the contribution of women, with members of the matrushakti coming together to mark the festival in an atmosphere of warmth and fraternity.
Speaking on the significance of Raksha Bandhan, the organisers said the festival is not only a celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters but also an opportunity to strengthen the collective commitment towards women’s dignity, safety and empowerment.
The event witnessed the participation of several BJP leaders and representatives from the Kotdwar and Yamkeshwar areas.
Among those present were Shashi Bala Keshwal, District President of BJP Kotdwar Mahila Morcha; Bachan Singh Bisht, District Panchayat Member; Anil Rawat, BJP Yamkeshwar Mandal President; Amardev Bhatt; Advocates Sandeep Amoli and Manoj Negi; Yashoda Negi, District General Secretary; Asha Kukreti, District Minister; Vinita Lakheda, Mahila Morcha Mandal President; Meenakshi Agarwal, Dugadda Mandal President; youth leader Aman Kukreti; Gaurav Negi, District Minister; Vikas Badola, District President; BJP youth leader Neeraj Kukreti; Mukesh Devrani; and Pallavi Lakheda, Anita Rawat and Aarti Keshwal, among others.
The gathering highlighted the broader social message of Raksha Bandhan and reiterated the importance of respecting, protecting and empowering women as an essential part of a strong and inclusive society.
