Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the BJP amid the ongoing parliamentary deadlock, alleging that the ruling party is unwilling to provide answers to questions raised by the Opposition.Yadav said the Opposition cannot be forced to accept a pre-decided response and argued that imposing a time limit for answers is not in keeping with democratic principles. He further accused the BJP of being in a hurry to bring the parliamentary session to an end instead of allowing a comprehensive discussion on issues being raised by the Opposition.“The answer cannot be imposed,” Yadav maintained, stressing that Parliament must provide adequate space for debate, questioning and accountability. The SP chief’s remarks come amid continuing differences between the government and the Opposition over the conduct and duration of discussions in Parliament.
