Let Parliament Run”: Amit Shah Challenges Opposition to Join Debate, Says Government Has Nothing to HideAmid the continuing deadlock in Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the government is ready to discuss all issues raised by the Opposition and answer questions on the floor of the House.Shah said the Opposition should approach the Speaker and agree to begin discussions at 3 PM, while he would be ready to respond to the issues raised during the debate the following day.The Home Minister said he had been sitting in his chamber since the beginning of the session because, according to him, the Opposition was not allowing Parliament to function properly.“Government Has Nothing to Hide” Shah strongly maintained that the government was prepared for discussion and had nothing to conceal.He said that parliamentary procedures already provide a structured mechanism for raising questions, holding debates and receiving responses from the government. The government, he added, was prepared to participate in discussions on issues being raised by the Opposition.According to Shah, the Opposition had initially demanded discussions on matters concerning students and other issues, and the government had agreed to the demand.He questioned why the Opposition was still preventing the House from functioning when the government had agreed to discussions.A Direct Message to the Opposition Shah appealed to the Opposition to allow Parliament to function and said that the BJP-led NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to face questions and participate in debates.The Home Minister’s remarks come at a time when repeated disruptions have led to a political confrontation between the government and the Opposition over the functioning of Parliament.The central message from Shah was unequivocal: come to the House, start the discussion, and let the government respond.With the government insisting that it is ready for debate, the next move now rests with the Opposition as Parliament continues to face a prolonged political deadlock.
