Poor Road Conditions Disrupt Students’ Studies, Protest Brings Traffic to Standstill in Mahoba

REPORT by Swati

Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh | August 19, 2026

Students in Mahoba staged a road blockade after heavy rains left the road in poor condition, causing difficulties in commuting and disrupting their regular access to educational institutions.

The students reportedly gathered on the affected road and blocked traffic, demanding immediate action to repair the damaged stretch. They said the deteriorating road conditions had made daily travel difficult, particularly during the rainy season.

The protest briefly disrupted traffic in the area, following which police reached the spot and interacted with the students. Police officials reportedly appealed to the protesters to remain calm and assured them that their concerns would be conveyed to the concerned authorities.

After being persuaded by the police, the students agreed to clear the road, allowing traffic movement to resume.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over road infrastructure and the difficulties faced by students and local residents during the monsoon.
