New Delhi: The 72nd National Film Awards celebrated the finest achievements in Indian cinema, with Yami Gautam winning her first-ever National Award for Best Actress for her acclaimed performance in Article 370. The political thriller also secured the prestigious Best Feature Film award, making it one of the biggest winners of the ceremony. In the Best Actor category, Kartik Aaryan received the National Award for his inspiring performance in Chandu Champion, sharing the honour with veteran Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who was recognised for his powerful role in Bramayugam. The joint award highlighted two remarkable performances from different corners of Indian cinema.
