The Haldwani branch of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti on Sunday organized its weekly Satsang, meditation session and a tree plantation drive as part of the organization’s nationwide environmental campaign inspired by revered spiritual leader Satpal Ji Maharaj.
The plantation programme was conducted under the committee’s large-scale tree plantation campaign being observed from July 18 to Aug. 2. During the event, volunteers planted several species of fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings to encourage environmental conservation and increase green cover.
Earlier in the day, the ashram hosted its regular weekly Satsang, followed by a special meditation session held on the first Sunday of the month. The meditation programme was conducted under the guidance of Jeevika Bai Ji, with devotees participating in the spiritual practice.
Addressing the gathering, Jeevika Bai Ji and Virakta Bai Ji emphasized the importance of regular participation in Satsang, saying that consistent spiritual practice strengthens devotion. They said that when a disciple develops deep love and faith toward the Guru, life becomes peaceful and fulfilling.
During the plantation drive, both spiritual leaders highlighted the importance of protecting the environment in the face of global warming. They urged people to plant more trees and stressed that the responsibility does not end with planting saplings. Ensuring their proper care and survival, they said, is equally important for achieving meaningful environmental benefits.
The programme witnessed the participation of several devotees and volunteers, reflecting the organization’s combined focus on spiritual development and environmental awareness.
Among those present were Prem Chand Joshi, Mahesh Pandey, Jwala Dutt Pathak, K.K. Saxena, Lalit Negi, Laxman Singh Rawat, G.S. Dharmasattu, Manmohan Joshi, Hema Negi, Premlata Bisht, Satyavati Kashyap, Munni Rastogi, Himani Rawat, Divya, Shakuntala Basera, Anjali Negi, Khashti Bisht and many other devotees.
