Angmo Emerges as Key Face of Sonam Wangchuk’s Protest, Vows to Lead Parliament March .As social activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk continues to dominate national headlines over his ongoing hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, another prominent figure has steadily emerged at the forefront of the movement Geetanjali J. Angmo.
Angmo has remained one of Wangchuk’s closest associates throughout the protest, assuming a visible leadership role as concerns over his deteriorating health intensified. When police shifted Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital for medical attention, Angmo accompanied him and publicly reaffirmed the movement’s resolve. She asserted that the planned Parliament March on July 20 would proceed without interruption.“If Sonam Wangchuk is unable to participate due to his health condition, I will lead the march on his behalf,” Angmo said, emphasizing that the campaign’s objectives remain unchanged.
