The Department of B.Ed. at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Postgraduate College, Halduchaur, successfully concluded its second-semester Teaching Practice Programme after a 12-day training exercise aimed at strengthening the practical teaching skills of future educators.Held from July 17 to July 28 under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Seema Srivastava, the programme was conducted at Government Upper Primary School, Dina Halduchaur, and Khashti Devi Inter College, Halduchaur. A total of 48 B.Ed. second-semester trainee teachers participated in the programme. Divided into two groups, the trainees taught subjects including Science, Mathematics, Hindi, Social Studies, Economics and Commerce, gaining first-hand classroom teaching experience.Faculty members from the B.Ed. Department observed the trainees’ classroom sessions and provided individual feedback to improve their teaching techniques. The participants were also trained in lesson planning, effective blackboard usage, questioning methods, homework assessment, classroom communication and the organisation of co-curricular activities. According to the college, the programme significantly enhanced the trainees’ confidence, teaching effectiveness and classroom management skills, preparing them for future roles as professional educators.The programme was coordinated by Dr. Geeta Bhatt and Dr. Pradeep Kumar. Speaking at the concluding session, Head of the B.Ed. Department Prof. T.C. Pandey said that teaching practice is the most vital component of teacher education as it bridges the gap between theory and classroom application while helping trainee teachers develop confidence and professional competence.The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Hem Chandra Pandey, Dr. Ajit Kumar Saini, Dr. Tanuja Melkani, Dr. Geeta Bhatt, Dr. Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Dr. Rita Durgapal, Dr. Kamla Pandey and other faculty members of the department.
