In a significant development for Uttarakhand’s literary and educational landscape, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat on Thursday formally released the book Anmol Prerna Dayini Prasang, authored by noted Hindi writer and educator Akhilesh Chandra Chamola.
The launch ceremony, held in a dignified and inspiring atmosphere, was attended by literary figures, academicians, social workers, and prominent members of civil society. Unveiling the book, Dr. Rawat described the work as a valuable contribution to society and praised the author’s commitment to promoting moral values through literature.
‘Positive Literature Can Counter Drug Abuse and Social Evils’
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rawat said that at a time when many young people are being influenced by social distractions, substance abuse, and cultural disorientation, guiding them towards constructive values has become a collective responsibility.
He remarked that despite the demands of regular teaching duties, Akhilesh Chandra Chamola had devoted time to creating ‘sat sahitya’ (positive and value-based literature) aimed at the moral upliftment of the younger generation.
“Leading the youth out of the darkness of addiction and towards the light of positive literature is one of the greatest necessities of our time,”
Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said during the event.
According to the minister, the book has the potential to inspire young readers to stay away from drugs, social evils, and depression while strengthening ethical values and positive thinking.

The central theme of Anmol Prerna Dayini Prasang revolves around character building, de-addiction, and the restoration of enduring life values in society.
Speakers at the programme noted that such literary works play an important role in shaping social consciousness and encouraging responsible citizenship among the youth.
