Lalkuwa 14 August 2026
Heavy rainfall in the Nainital region since last night has disrupted normal life and severely affected transportation services. The situation has also impacted rail traffic on the Lalkuan–Kashipur railway route.Large quantities of rainwater and debris have accumulated on the railway track, leaving several stretches submerged and affecting train movement. In view of the conditions, rail services between Lalkuan and Kashipur have been suspended, while the train scheduled to arrive at Lalkuan from Kashipur has been cancelled.Railway officials and personnel have reached the affected location and are working to remove the debris and restore the track. Railway authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are expected to resume services only after the track is cleared and declared safe for operations. The persistent rainfall has also caused waterlogging and disruption at several locations across the region, raising concerns over further deterioration if the downpour continues.
