A free health camp was organised at Shri Hans Prem Yog Ashram, Sanjay Nagar-II, Bindukhatta, on the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of Sadguru Dev Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj.
The camp, organised by the Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti under the guidance of young saint Mahatma Alokanand Ji, witnessed the participation of 96 people who underwent health check-ups.
During the camp, medical teams conducted tests for cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, thyroid and other blood-related parameters. Medicines were also provided free of cost to those who required them after medical examination. Doctors further advised participants on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing lifestyle-related health problems.
Senior physician from Haldwani, Dr Harish Patel, along with his medical team, said that irregular daily routines and the increasing consumption of fast food were contributing to a rise in cases of high blood pressure and blood sugar-related problems.
The medical team stressed the importance of maintaining a disciplined daily routine and taking care of both physical and mental health. According to the doctors, several health problems can be reduced through healthy habits, balanced food and regular physical activity.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Mohan Bisht said the Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti has been working not only in the fields of religion and spirituality but also in social service, culture, environmental protection, healthcare and education.
He described such initiatives as inspirational and worthy of being replicated in society.
Mahatma Alokanand Ji said that the Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti regularly organises programmes focused on public welfare and community service. He expressed gratitude to Dr Mohan Bisht, all the guests and members of the medical team for their participation and support.
Senior social worker Kundan Singh Mehta, former state minister Hukam Singh Kunwar, Jeevan Chandra Upreti, Dr Ashutosh Pant, Shyam Singh Negi and several other dignitaries were present at the event.
The birth anniversary of Sadguru Dev Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj is observed on September 21. Ahead of the occasion, devotees and volunteers associated with the organisation conduct various social-service programmes at different ashrams and branches. The health camp in Bindukhatta was organised as part of these pre-birthday welfare activities.
Among those present were Pradeep Singh Bathyal, Bhagwan Das Verma, Swaminath Pandit, Prakash Kanauli and several others.
