In line with the directives of the Railway Board, the Izzatnagar Division of Northeast Railway on Tuesday carried out an extensive cleanliness and public awareness drive under the ‘Swachhta Se Swagat’ campaign across major railway stations.
The campaign was conducted under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ms. Veena Sinha. Intensive mechanised cleaning was undertaken at key stations, including Kathgodam, Lalkuan, Rudrapur City, Kasganj, Farrukhabad and Kannauj. The drive covered platforms, circulating areas, waiting halls, toilets, railway tracks and other passenger amenities to ensure a cleaner and more hygienic environment.
As part of the initiative, railway officials and frontline onboard staff also interacted with passengers, urging them to keep station premises clean and actively participate in maintaining cleanliness. To promote public participation, ENHM and onboard frontline staff wore badges carrying the message ‘Swachhta Se Swagat’ and organised awareness rallies highlighting the importance of hygiene and sanitation.
The campaign is also being widely promoted through social media to encourage greater public involvement and reinforce the message of cleanliness across the railway network.
According to Northeast Railway officials, the initiative aims to strengthen cleanliness standards at stations while fostering greater public awareness and participation in maintaining a clean railway environment.
