Seven Tourists Injured After SUV Plunges Into Gorge Near Nainital, Tree Prevents Major Tragedy Seven tourists from Lucknow were injured after their Toyota Tavera SUV veered off the road and plunged into a gorge near Jeolikot while travelling from Nainital to Kathgodam Railway Station on Thursday morning, officials said.According to preliminary information, the vehicle lost control before falling nearly 100 meters down the hillside. The descent was halted when the SUV became lodged against a tree, preventing it from plunging further and averting what could have been a fatal accident.Emergency responders and local residents rescued the occupants from the vehicle. All seven injured passengers were shifted by the state-run 108 ambulance service to Dr. Sushila Tiwari Government Hospital (STH) in Haldwani for treatment.Officials said all the injured are residents of Lucknow and were returning from Nainital after their visit. The condition of the injured has not yet been officially disclosed, while authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
