Sonam Wangchuk’s Hunger Strike Enters Critical Phase, Vows to Continue Till July 20 Parliament March
Environmentalist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk has entered the 20th day of his indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, with doctors warning that his health condition has become critical amid significant weight loss and growing concerns over possible organ complications. Despite mounting appeals to end the fast, Wangchuk has vowed to continue the protest until the proposed Parliament march on July 20, saying he will “stay alive till July 20 at any cost.” The protest, centred on environmental protection and constitutional safeguards for Ladakh, has received support from several political leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Mehbooba Mufti.
