Illegal Liquor Consignment Seized in Patna, Driver Arrested Despite the prohibition on alcohol in Bihar, liquor smugglers continue to devise new ways to transport and deliver illegal consignments. In a recent operation, the Excise Department’s special checking team seized a large quantity of foreign liquor from a Jharkhand-registered Brezza car near the AIIMS Golambar in Patna.The Excise Department team was conducting routine vehicle checks near AIIMS Golambar when it signalled the suspicious vehicle to stop. During a search of the car, officials found several bottles of foreign liquor concealed inside the vehicle’s boot.Driver Kajju Kumar Arrested The driver, identified as Kajju Kumar, was taken into custody. During preliminary questioning, he reportedly told the Excise Department that he had brought the vehicle from Jharkhand to Patna and was supposed to hand it over to an unidentified person in the city.Excise Department Deputy Commissioner Prem Prakash said a significant quantity of illegal liquor was recovered from the Jharkhand-registered vehicle during checking near AIIMS Golambar.The department has launched further questioning to establish the source of the liquor and identify other persons potentially involved in the smuggling network.
