Multi-Department Public Outreach Camp Held in Lal Kuan Under ‘Government at Every Doorstep’ Initiative
A multi-purpose public outreach camp was organised in Lal Kuan on Thursday under the state government’s flagship campaign ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ (Government for Every Citizen, At Every Doorstep) with the objective of ensuring direct delivery of welfare services and speedy resolution of public grievances.
Stalls representing several government departments were set up at the camp, where officials provided information about welfare schemes and addressed complaints submitted by local residents.
Leaders Highlight Success of Doorstep Governance
Inaugurating the camp, Member of Parliament Ajay Bhatt, MLA Dr. Mohan Bisht, and Nagar Panchayat Chairman Surendra Singh Lotni said the initiative was proving highly effective in taking government welfare schemes directly to the people.
They stated that the campaign was helping ensure that information about public welfare programmes reached every household and that benefits were delivered to deserving citizens without unnecessary delays.
Residents Raise Key Local Issues
During the camp, residents highlighted several pressing concerns, including low voltage electricity supply, irrigation facilities, and road infrastructure.
MLA Dr. Mohan Bisht directed officials of the concerned departments to interact directly with complainants and ensure that the issues were resolved on priority.
Multiple Departments Participate
The camp witnessed participation from a wide range of departments, including:
Homeopathic Department
District Industries Centre
Labour Department
Animal Husbandry Department
Horticulture and Food Processing Department
Women and Child Development Department
Nainital Milk Union
Electricity Department
Concern Over Lack of Publicity
MLA Dr. Mohan Bisht also expressed serious concern over what he described as insufficient publicity of the camp.
He said departmental officers must be made accountable for ensuring adequate awareness among the public, adding that poor publicity often prevents eligible beneficiaries from availing government welfare schemes.
Officials and Public Representatives Present
Among those present at the event were Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rekha Kohli, Development Block Haldwani representative Sunil Pant, Dr. Lav Pandey, Executive Officer Ishwar Singh Rawat, Electricity Department Sub-Divisional Officer Sanjay Kumar, District Panchayat Member Deepa Chandola, Junior Block Pramukh Kamal Bhandari, councillors Dhan Singh Bisht, Hemant Pandey, nominated councillor Vinod Srivastava, and BJP Mandal President Arun Joshi, along with several other dignitaries.
“The success of the ‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar’ initiative lies in ensuring that government services reach citizens directly and that public grievances are resolved promptly at the local level,”
leaders said during the camp.
