Garhwal MP Anil Baluni had a narrow escape on Friday when his car was hit by a large boulder that suddenly fell from a hillside near Totaghat in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district.Baluni was travelling to meet the victims of the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti tunnel accident and take stock of the situation when the boulder struck his vehicle. The impact severely damaged the roof of the car.Fortunately, the MP and other occupants of the vehicle escaped unhurt. No injuries have been reported in the incident.Following the accident, the damaged vehicle was brought to Srinagar for repairs. After the necessary repairs were completed, Baluni resumed his journey towards his destination. The incident once again highlights the risks posed by falling rocks and landslides along Uttarakhand’s mountainous roads, particularly during the monsoon season.
