In a move aimed at easing travel for examination candidates and other passengers, the Northeast Railway’s Izzatnagar Division has announced the operation of special trains between Mau and Bareilly on selected dates in August 2026.
According to a press release issued by the Izzatnagar Division, Train No. 05185 Mau–Bareilly Examination Special (TOD) will run from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13, Aug. 16 to Aug. 20, and Aug. 24, 2026. The train will depart from Mau at 11:45 a.m. and halt at major stations including Azamgarh, Shahganj, Ayodhya, Ayodhya Cantt, Badshah Nagar, Daliganj, Sitapur, Lakhimpur, Gola Gokarnnath, Mailani, Puranpur, Pilibhit, Bhojipura, Izzatnagar and Bareilly City, before arriving at Bareilly Junction at 6:10 a.m. the following day.
For the return journey, Train No. 05186 Bareilly–Mau Examination Special will operate from Aug. 9 to Aug. 14, Aug. 17 to Aug. 21, and Aug. 25, 2026. The train will leave Bareilly Junction at 3:25 p.m. and stop at Bareilly City, Izzatnagar, Bhojipura, Pilibhit, Puranpur, Mailani, Gola Gokarnnath, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Daliganj, Badshah Nagar, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya, Shahganj and Azamgarh, reaching Mau at 8:20 a.m. the next day.
Railway officials said the special trains have been introduced to manage the expected rush of candidates appearing for competitive examinations while also providing additional travel convenience for regular passengers.
The Northeast Railway has appealed to passengers and examination aspirants to make maximum use of the special train services.
